In 1998, he became senior officer in the Planning and Studies Department of Banca Intesa, focusing in particular on strategic simulations and monitoring of individual regulatory capital ratios of all Group banks. Later, he moved to Fin-eco Investimenti SGR as Fixed Income Director. Chief Institutional Affairs and External Communication Officer since 1 January 2018. In that period Mr. Grandi was also a board director of Telecom, SIA S.p.A., Eurizon Capital, Agos S.p.A. and of some Companies within Intesa Sanpaolo Group. From 1974 to 1995, he was the Director of the Institute for Economic Research on Firms and Growth, the main body of the CNR (the Italian National Research Council) in the economic field. In 2012, he was nominated Accenture Senior Managing Director and also became Accenture Payment Services Global Lead; then, in 2015, he was appointed as Europe and Latin America Banking Industry and Practice Lead. From 2015 to February 2020 he was Managing Director of Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking S.p.A..
