Really wish I could find the stuff in 5/8 thickness. But, when I've tried to find MDF, which is very rare out here in the boondocks, the only place I find 1/4" is Home Depot and their website says the actual thickness is 0.216 which, as you can see, is no better than plywood as far as that goes. I'm pretty sure I bought the last sheet of this stuff over there. I drew up my existing box using 5/8 material, and my internal box calculations came up to .49 cu.
