The Arkose bikes are designed towards riding tracks/bridleways etc and have slow, heavy tyres, low gearing and wide saddles. Make no mistake, it's not a "racy bike", but I did ride my proudest achievement on it: I finished RideLondon-Surrey 100 in 4h 40m 57s [yes, I like to bring it up any chance I get], so it's not a complete slouch either.
