Once you are up in Myrdal you are stuck waiting for nearly two hours until the train comes back down and you are not able to walk down to the previous stop, as you cannot cross the train tracks. Stunning views on the top and all the way up/down. Are you coming to Geiranger without a car, traveling with Hurtigruten or a cruise ship? There's no much other things around the area, except for a museum and a small River. The serpentine road makes it an interesting drive up. You can hike all the way to the blue ice. Norway itinerary tip: we opted to visit the Nigardsbreen arm of the glacier due to easier accessibilty and the provision of tours but Briksdal is another great alternative and is the most visited arm. Really cute little aquarium. Suitable location for families with children from age of 3 and up. From the western end of the Geirangerfjord, the regular ferry service departs from Hellesylt and runs to the town of Geiranger at the fjords eastern end. The Geiranger Skywalk is a privately-operated skywalk on Mt. Great local adventures, nice service, worth the money. And the mix between the glaciar (I have been in some) With the waterfall and the lake is absolutely amazing. After checking in at our hotel we headed to nearby Norwegian Glacier Museum and visited two glacier tongues nearby. GeirangerFjord: The Fjord is the deep blue strip of water strategically flowing between two mountains. The canyoning was a very exciting experience with very nice guides! This ferry is unlike many of the other ferry journeys youll have taken so far as its a ferry through the UNESCO World Heritage Geirangerfjord and as a result, travels slower so you can appreciate the sheer beauty of the fjords. The road by itself is fun to drive. They have a very good selection of lifts and a very good selection of trails in different difficulties. Our guide was great, she was good at English and told some really interesting stories! Really recommend to make the guide tour where you can see the inside of the houses! LOVED our visit here! Don't take the boat as it won't safe you any time as it is still another 30min walk from the pier. Even if you do go when there are less sisters, don't worry - they are still spectacular.
About a 45min hike. This unique observation platform extending out from the mountain offers dramatic views of the fjord. For those traveling from farther distances, the coastal cities of Bergen and lesund are the main ports for Geirangerfjord cruises and both have airports (lesund is the closest). A beautiful little stave church. This was our first experience with Via Ferrata. Its particularly narrow and steep with tall surrounding mountainsthe closest thing in the country to a box fjord. Tomas always stayed in the middle of the group and gave advice if asked. Protection helmets had a funky smell or I might be a little picky. Not surprising they used it as a model for Frost. Seven Sisters: This is the 39th tallest waterfall in Norway with seven separate streams. As someone who is afraid of heights, it took every muscle on my body to stay on this skywalk for at least 10 seconds (I failed). At the same time, the city offers you the best neighborhoods to explore and new foods to try.
