The reason my son decided against Beaty Hall is because four people shared just one bathroom. All the communal bathrooms are basically the same in all the dorms. This three story building has an attached parking garage, large living room on the first floor, gourmet kitchen on the 2nd floor and luxury bathrooms on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. The bathrooms are not disgusting.they are new and cleaned everyday except weekends just like jennings.
,I lived in Murphree, and my bathroom was disgusting. Whether the student is an incoming freshman, a transfer student or a returning student, he/she can choose from both on-campus and off-campus apartments and dorms. Charm and location await students who want more than the typical apartment experience. I wouldn't recommend a the murphree area for freshmans because they are a lot of upperclassman and the floors are designed where freshman's are not able to be as social as possible. In most cases, students choose their housing based on age of the building, bathroom arrangements, social atmosphere, room size, and year built. This project will involve renovating the restrooms, fire sprinkler, flooring upgrades, and common spaces within Broward Halls northwest wing and center core, as well as replacing flat roof areas. Suite 103 Apartments Near UF Sorority Row In the Graham area, they have similar communal bathrooms as broward but unlike broward they are split into two sections, not just one long wall.
,The bathrooms in Murphree are disgusting, and they are not a semester old - they're like 60+ years old and they've just been "renovated," which in my opinion honestly didn't do much.
It's a great social area for freshmen.

,The Murphree bathrooms are new, they took out everything (tiles, sinks, shower, toilets) and replaced it with new materials. National studies show that students living in residence halls their first year tend to do better in their classes and attend more of their classes, as opposed to students who live in an apartment their first year at college. I haven't been in the other bathrooms in that area, like Mallory, but I'd assume they're similar. Plus the above poster is right about the Murphree area having a lot of upperclassmen and not being as social.

,In simpson, graham, and trustler it was 4 shower stalls and 6 toilets for 50-52 people. Ivy House - Luxury Female-Only Residence Hall Are the communal bathrooms any bigger, cleaner or nicer in the other large halls (Rawlings, Mallory, Simpson, Graham, Fletcher etc) She would rather not do a suite type dorm because she wants the social aspect of the double room/communal bath down the hall type dorm.

It is recommended that students find housing within walking distance of UF classes, because on-campus parking is severely limited and most undergraduate students will not qualify for parking decals which will allow them to park within walking distance of their classes.
